I tend to get them at a rate of a dozen a week when they're being sold and Christmas is still four months off!

Ah, so you're worried you're going to end up indulging too much a little too early in the year? And by "a little," I mean "a lot."

It seems like they start putting out the Christmas stuff earlier and earlier every year. As one of my favorite stand-up comedians, Lewis Black, once said —

"I will tell you that you Christians have created a holiday that has become a beast that can't be fed. Every year, Christmas becomes longer and longer and longer, and you don't care, do you? You just take more and more of the calendar for yourselves. It's unbelievable. How long does it take you people to SHOP? It's beyond belief! It's insane! When I was a kid, Halloween was Halloween, and Santa wasn't poking his ASS into it!"

They do seem to be on sale at least a few weeks earlier than last year.

Ugg. Don't get me started. There are 4 chains in my area that will start putting out Christmas stuff on (or in one case before) Labor Day. By the end of September most stores will have more Christmas stuff than Halloween stuff.
