Alley of Poetry

For Oz and his compatriots:

ATTACK OF THE WOLF

Lope through the forest without breaking a sweat

Climb to the tree line without oxygen debt

He was just a man a few hours ago

With a difference only few others could know

He threw back his head to howl at the moon

Howls in reply meant they’d be here soon

He waited until the pack was all here

Soon they would be the ones to fear

All of them leaving tracks in the snow

Predator eyes scanned the valley below

Discerning noses caught the scent

Target acquired, back down they went

Running full tilt, dodging each branch

Unsuspecting town’s wolf avalanche

Fangs tore through a jugular vein

The target had only a minute of pain

you got talent!
I have written a book that I wanted the poem to be with rhyming words, it didn't help me that I had a rhyming dictionary - not surprisingly as the poem I wrote was 165 pages long.
Though it did sell in a massive quantity, tee hee. The sales figures went into double figures . . . . but not treble figures.
It was not surprising though as poetry books don't normally sell in high numbers.
