Hi, I'm new to the forum, but after I found this thread I really wanted to try it. The rules for this RPG are from the revised Buffy RPG guide. I want to try to play through the seasons of Buffy as they were. I need three people at least, but I don't want more than five as I don't think I'm good enough to handle that many people. I don't mind using original characters, but I need one person to be Buffy. This would start with Season 1, and we'd just go through most of the episodes with change mostly dependent on character choice or if someone pms me a good monster of the weak.

I hoped to get enough people to start this by now, but I didn't, so instead I'll just post the setting of the first session to make myself feel better. It takes place in Sunnydale, where we will start off at Sunnydale High. The characters will all meet each other on your own turns. Vampires will be looking for offerings to The Master that night, and may go after your characters. Everyone has the option to go anywhere they want, the vampires will be at the Bronze, but if they don't go there I will figure out another way for your character to discover what is happening in Sunnydale.

Where are you going to post the setting ?

Sorry, a friend came by and I had to get off for a while, here it is
Sunnydale, California, 2017.
Sunnydale is a small town with around 4,500 humans living in it. It has three high-schools including a private school and two colleges in the area, the primary one being Sunnydale High, home of the Razorbacks, and the Hellmouth. The characters will begin within the walls of the high-school during a break period where they are all in the same location. This is to allow everyone to introduce their character and the initial group dynamics. I have set Sunnydale as a modern town because the original Sunnydale we know was in 1997, and it would be hard to keep everything in that years technology level. Sunnydale is located south of Los Angeles, but is within a days drive. The town also supports a large demon community, as the Hellmouth attracts demons of all moralities, including neutral and good, but they tend not to make waves, particularly when they hear a new Slayer is in town. The town also has a significant number of Churches, Synagogues, and Mosques, as the humans are more prone to finding religion when on a literal portal to hell. I do have a few rules that I also feel I should make clear.

I am going to trust everyone who plays to roll ten sided die, or find a way to roll a few, for their characters and to be honest about it, if that doesn't work I will change it but I want to trust people. Secondly, I have no problems with vampire, demon, or half-demon characters, so long as you give them proper motivation for being on the side of good, but I only want the Slayer(aka. Buffy) to be a hero-type character from creation. Finally, magic is powerful, but it can be gamebreaking, if you want to try a spell, outside of ones that are provided for plot purposes, I want to be asked first. Also, if you want to use technology instead of magic, you can.

Cool, good luck

Yes, Cordelia is cool character, u must have her with xander, there will be no cheatig on cordelia with Williow and buffy must not get mad at cordelia

I'm just going to post world building updates until I get a full cast, first off, why are there so many vampires in Sunnydale?

I, personally go for a grey approach to storytelling, and hate the idea of evil as a motivation, but how do you explain all the vampires popping up in Buffy, it's like the Sabbat are gearing up to fight the Camarilla, props to anyone who gets that, and then taking the time to bury the recruits. In this world, the number of vampires in good old Sunnydale is instead caused by the fact that the town is built on a Hellmouth, and this one in particular causes there to be a 35% chance of coming back to life as a vampire, no matter how you died, independent of a "family line" like the Order of Aurelius, but naturally subservient to the bloodlines. All members of a direct line can sense each other when near and can tell when one dies regardless of distance. Also, vampires need to feed on a pint of human blood a day, double for animal, or they will begin to weaken, desiccate, and eventually lose higher brain function, until they can no longer move. They cannot die from starvation, though a starving vamp, one who has gone 3 or more days without any blood, or a month without a proper supply, cannot heal like normal. Next, a vampire's body will always eventually return to it's state right before death, and yes, a virgin will always be a virgin, a cripple a cripple, and so on and so forth, unless the healing is altered mystically. My final note on vampires is that there are only three ways to kill them. Wood piercing their heart while it is still in their chest, separating their brain from the rest of their body completely, and anything that burns them.

Next thing up, why crosses, holy water, and biblical exorcisms work, and when.

I have to change cannon here because this doesn't make sense otherwise. God is real, all the gods are real. God with a capital G, cursed a human, Cain, with vampirism. Vampires, in turn, suffer from burns because of Jesus sacrifice on the cross imbuing the symbols of that with something anathema to the demon within them, forgiveness, which magically burns them because they are demons. Holy water is due to the fact that it is holy, and any artifact blessed by a priest of God will cause burns. Finally, demons and exorcisms. This works only if the demon is possessing a living host, and is originally from a truly biblical hell dimension, by that I mean a terrible place that would make Pinhead feel at home.

I hope to be able to start this game up soon. If you have a disagreement with how I decided to make things, please message me personally so that we can discuss it, and I will try to accommodate anyone who wants to play

Well I was going to role play as Cordelia but if you want her then I play as Buffy .

Welcome Cordeliagirl, I hope you have fun playing with us. ChaserRules, I will make the proper adjustments to my notes. Now all we need is one more person and we can begin with episode 1, Welcome to the Hellmouth. And if either of you wish to discuss where you want to take your character, or what you want to happen with your character, please message me and I will do my best to help. Finally, don't be afraid to message me about the latest episodes monster, if you don't want Ms. French, give me a better idea and I will run with it.

That all right . I know you like her just as much as me & this way I can play Buffy as friends with Cordy.
