CDs that forged your teenager self

Adding some, but more bands than CDs cos I usually had the radio on my headphones during homework time (still can't believe the boarding house parents believed they were sound reducing ear muffs 😉 ) ACDC, Eskimo Joe, Sarah Blasko, Powderfinger, Downsyde, Crowded House.

Slightly Odway was my absolute fave, I played it to death, multiple times, and I would still say its right up there as one of my personality shaping CDs

Uhoh, got me on a roll. Tis fun to listen to music while drawing. How could I forget good ol' Grinners!? Seen them heaps live. (Grinspoon)

The one with lea Michele and Jonathan Groff?

Ok here are my selection for my teenage youth.

1) Evanescence - Fallen : This has to be the first because I listen to it relentlessly for a year in my school bus. I even made a story with the songs like musical but I will never tell a soul what it was!

2) Linkin park - Hybrid Theory: I discovered them in my first year of high school and I was hooked! I use to really love angry music back then like Korn, System of a down and of course the Queen of the dawned soundtrack

3) Buffy the Vampire slayer: The album : I was a crazy fan of Buffy so naturally I loved every merch about it! My favorite songs were Strong by Velvet Chain, Lucky by Bif Naked and It doesn't matter by Alison Krauss!

4) 3 doors down - Away from the sun: I use to love this group and especially this cd. I listen to it a lot!!!

5) Greenday - American Idiot: I loved this album and honestly wasn'r really around for the early Greenday but I still cherish this album a lot today!

The Buffy one is the only one I still revisit entirely to this day but I still love a lot of songs from the other cds.

They made a soundtrack from that book?

@Amber Bunny Slippers knows what i am talking about 🙂

Oh. I thought the Queen of the Dawn book had a soundtrack. And for the record, there would be numerous other things I would sue you for before being French. I mean, just being French is reason enough. Second language has nothing to do with it.
I wanted to discuss with you the CDs that you were obsessed with when you were a teenager. So here are my questions:
Well CD's were stuff of Scifi when I was a teen.....in fact I was somewhat narked when CD's first came out I had just finished replacing all my favourite alums on cassette & sold all my LP's....so I had to start again!!!!

What CDs did you listen to abusively when you were a teen?
Not CD's of course but probably these:-
Motorhead - Motorhead
Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast
Stranglers - Raven
Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Deep Purple - Machine Head
AC/DC - Highway to Hell
Rush - 2112
Yes - Going for the One
Scorpions - Blackout
Rainbow - Rising
ZZ Top - Eliminator

Think you get the idea..... 😀

Are you still prood of theses choices or ashamed?
Still listen to a few of them now so, yeah. 🙂

Do you still listen to the same kind of music?
Oh yes......bit more Prog-rock now I guess

Is there a CD that changed your life and if so why?
Jethro Tull - The Broadsword & the Beast...….Made me realise there was more to music then Heavy Metal 😀

Raven is one of my favourites too - sounds of my childhood lol
Ouch thats mean @Spanky but I guess you would be an expert at sucking since you know sooooo much about the subject yourself! (And I will stop there before the boards tell me to be nice !)

I love threads like this 🙂

What CDs did you listen to abusively when you were a teen?
Anything by Nsync. I was known for being an Nsync fanatic. Besides that, lots of different genres, so there was Shania Twain's Come On Over, Green Day's Dookie, Nirvana's Nevermind, and probably more, but those are the most memorable.

I think I've mentioned this in a past thread, but I have a very strong memory of the entire Kelly Clarkson album Breakaway. Listening to it on repeat with my best friend at the time when we were 17, sitting on the window pane of the apartment she shared with her boyfriend. I remember those times more clearly than most things in my life, though I don't know why.

Are you still proud of theses choices or ashamed?
Neither. I still have the exact same taste in music as I did back then (though I lean more towards rock and country, back then it was more pop). I've never been ashamed, not even when I was looked at like a poser because I looked punk but listened to Nsync 🙂
Saying I'm proud feels weird, though; it isn't an accomplishment, just what I enjoyed listening to at that time in my life.

Do you still listen to the same kind of music?
As mentioned before, yes I do. I even still listen to a lot of the same artists, especially since I feel that the music of the past 15 years has been...less than, in my eyes.

Is there a CD that changed your life and if so why?
I don't really think there is anything that profound in my past, but the Kelly Clarkson album definitely has meaning to me and my memories of a friend I no longer speak to, and I've attached strong memories to a few other albums as well, most of which I've mentioned above already. Music itself has shaped my life and personality, but not any one artist or band.
