My name is Danielle and I love all things Buffy/SMG. I have been a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer since grade school. Sarah Michelle Gellar is an idol to me. I always follow her projects. Has anyone else seen Wolf Pack?

Other shows I like are Supernatural, Grimm, Wynonna Earp, The Last Kingdom, Charmed and Star Trek TNG. What are some of your favorite shows? 😊

Happy to be here and excited to start talking Buffy with you so I can stop annoying my hubby. πŸ˜‚

I am also really enjoying Yellowjackets. Anyone else watching?

Welcome πŸ™‚ lots of fans of all those shows here. I like Supernatural too, but still haven't seen the last season of Wynonna Earp yet.

Hope you find some threads of interest to post in πŸ˜€

I love Supernatural too. Did you see the Winchesters SPOILERS but it fixed some things I wasn't happy with about the end of Supernatural.
Welcome to the forum! There seems to be a broadly supernatural theme in the shows you like but nothing else can replace Buffy or Angel. You might like Veronica Mars or Nancy Drew as well as the ones you listed.

Most people here are fans of Sarah Michelle Gellar as well and there are a lot of discussions about her. Discussions in this place tend to be intelligent and civilized which makes it a lot easier and more worthwhile to discuss the programs themselves.

Welcome to the forum! I second Veronica Mars and Nancy Drew as good shows similar to Buffy you might like!! They are both really good! Veronica Mars is more of a young private detective, but is in the vein of Buffy! Nancy Drew has the spooky paranormal elements that Buffy has!

Welcome, always great to have a new member. I recently came back after a hiatus and it's been so easy to pick up where I left off. If you don't mind my asking, what age are you? I'm just always curious if someone is an original fan or one who came to it later. Not because I want to gatekeep obvs LOL, only original fans are welcome. On the contrary I love hearing how Buffy is still being discovered, though it's also nice to hear from old fans who still love it after all this time.

Havent seen the Winchesters yet, but if i come across it i will watch for sure!
Welcome. I’ve been a long-ish fan of Buffy since 2009, though I had seen a few episodes here and there of seasons 5 and 6 around 2002/2003 (15 at the time).

I’m more of a movie person, but I love tv shows such as The Fugitive (1960s series), TMNT 2003, Don’t trust the b in Apartment 23, Keeping Up Appearances and One Foot in the Grave.

Welcome! Do you have any favorite seasons?

I liked Grimm, too. A bonus was that a lot of local theater actors here showed up on it as guest stars.

I haven't seen Wolf Pack, but there are a few threads for it.

Hola!

I'm a fan of ST:NG, even if I do tease it at times. Though for me, it kind of ends with ST:NG, Voyager, and DS9, I haven't been able to get into the newer stuff (including movies) after that, even if there are cool eps here or there (and Lower Decks can have me howling with laughter the few times I've seen it, but it still hasn't fully hooked me). To me, the future is pretty much as shown in the last ep of ST: NG (All Good Things). I consider the rest to be more "professional fanfic." For me, if others embrace what comes after, I'm glad they can enjoy it, but it's not for me (I might actually be able to enjoy it more if it was its own series in a different universe). I've also read many of the novels from back then, but not the newer stuff.

I probably come off as a major Star Wars and Star Trek fan here, and I am (at least the older stuff), but I actually prefer Babylon 5. (Fun fact, the "giant mantis" from season 1 of Buffy is used in B5 as an alien black market dealer.)

Also, one of the few kid shows I come to really love (and discovered it as an adult so that nostalgia isn't a factor) is Kim Possible (animated only), though the parody element is its biggest draw for me (some going over my head until it was explained to me as it was a reference to certain movies I hadn't seen) with some clever humor mixed in with the slapstick. And I discovered it while babysitting, one of the things that drew my attention was Michael Dorn (Worf of ST:NG) being the voice of Rufus 3000, a genetically engineered naked mole rat designed for combat who has a time travel device. Dorn really threw himself into the part, and it's more his voice (so like Worf) that caught my attention, whether about polluting the time stream, or his leading his forces with, "Naked mole rats, attack!"

I gave the original Charmed a chance, and I liked it, but not enough to keep renting (probably would've if I kept at it). Had I first tried it on a streaming service (not that I'd get it just for the original series) then I think I'd have watched the entire series. The TV I had back then barely worked, and mostly just used for my vcr and dvd player, and streaming had not yet become a thing. I might yet still see it all one day. (It was YEARS before I gave Angel a chance, and so glad I did, and I hope I have a similar feeling about Charmed).

Supernatural is in that zone as well. I've liked some eps, some very well, but haven't gotten motivated enough to go out of my way to see it (but the one where they discover Dorothy and a portal to Oz came so close to hooking me, actually I think I did watch a lot more after that before I stopped for whatever reason, meaning to get back to it, but haven't yet). I think I'd enjoy it, at least for a few seasons.

I like the first season and half of Once Upon A Time. As in it was something of a favorite, but then it fell apart for me.

American Horror Story is hit or miss with me. AHS: Coven is the only season I've seen more than once (and own).

I suppose I should say I prefer the horror and urban fantasy elements of Buffy and Angel. I don't watch it for the ships (even if I actually like a few of them) which makes me unusual, though the closeness of the Core Four (with some honorary members) does appeal to me Though there is a special charm to the campy season 1, I generally prefer eps like Helpless and Hush. But I can enjoy the comedy eps as well, especially when the show is willing to laugh at itself.

If you can still find them, there are two shows worth looking at for their supernatural / sci fi content:

Warehouse 13, notable for the fact that it has male and female cast but no ships. The story is about people who are curators of a warehouse of supernatural items and the people sent to retrieve them and the dangers they face handling these items.

The Librarians, another show about finding relics (not quite like Relic Hinter), rewriting parts of history, and generally protecting the public from supernatural threats. The characters include a thief/hacker, a mathematician, an archaeologist, an anti-terrorist colonel and the immortal library manager and they battle the Serpent Brotherhood. Better than it sounds!

Hello and Welcome! I'm also a huge SMG fan, have you seen Ringer? or The Crazy Ones? Later this year I plan to watch everything she's done, movies and shows. I've already seen Ringer, it was fun, but very different from BTVS. More of a slightly-less-crazy-Pretty-Little-Liars vibe. Even though she was only in it for like 1 minute, she was great in Do Revenge.

Anyways! I have started Wolf Pack, but I'm 90% watching it just for her, haha. How are you liking it?

And I had to comment because I'm a HUGE Yellowjackets fan. I have only seen Season 1, I haven't started Season 2 yet. Who are your favorite characters on there?
