Spuffy Forever
I know! I'm in the minority when it comes to the character of Kate Lockley but hear me out. Kate was a great character on Angel in her run.
I know most people think she was a "cheap knock off of Buffy" which I didn't get. I loved having Kate show a human aspect to the show. The police is something that Buffy rarely ever dealt with so it was cool to have a police officer on the show first of all. Kate had an interesting backstory too
She lost her mother early on and had a terrible father who didn't show her enough love and appreciation who she lost too. She had to disconnect from her emotions a lot.
Kate had a black and white view of the world and that was shaken up when she found out Angel was a vampire.
Sense and Sensitivity proved what a badass strong woman Kate was and she made it a great episode of Season 1.
Now I understand that after her dad died. Kate becoming a thorn in Angel's side wasn't her most perfect moments but with all her backstory and more. Kate has no idea what to believe in the world anymore.
Kate attempting to commit suicide was her trying to escape reality as her obsession with the supernatural world had become deeper and deeper which makes sense.
How would all you react knowing that your demons and vampires exist after being told all your life they're made up? I bet most of you would be just as stunned as Kate.
Kate's last dialogue with Angel was perfect as she left forgiving Angel and realizing there's higher powers in the fight to darkness and I so wish Kate had been able to come back for further Angel seasons and I think she is still a great Angel character and I will always root for Kate Lockley.
