This has been reported by a number of sources though they seem split on who might get it ๐Ÿ˜†

Lowden known for Slow Horse and Dunkirk would the first Scottish Bond since Connery. I know little about him but he is the lesser known of the two which they sometimes favour for the Bond role. Friends of my say he's a good comic actor, but would be a weird choice for Bond?

Elordi would be a terrible choice IMO, he's a Patrick Batman style villain or bad boy not someone who can lead a Bond film. Just like with Lazenby him being the wrong choice has nothing to do with him being Aussie๐Ÿคฃ

Thoughts? Any other suggestions for Bond?

As a Bond adept they must cast the best possible actor, who can commit himself to this franchise, both are not even close!

Lowden is still a pretty small star this would be his biggest gig so far, so I think he would commit if offerered.

There are still other names like Callum Turner and Josh O'Connor being floated.

My choice would be Dev Patel. With Anya Taylor Joy as a Bond Girl (but a more modern one), and Matthew Rhys as the villain.

I vote neither. Lowden looks a little more Bond-ish, but he's already married to Saoirse Ronan. You don't get to have both. ๐Ÿ˜

I'm not familiar with Lowden but he just looks like Simon Pegg and Michael Sheen to me. I'm sure he's a solid actor though. I don't like Elordi as Bond, Josh O Connor is an unconventional choice. Callum Turner looks the most like he could play Bond, but honestly I don't love any of these choices, but I'm also not a big Bond fan, so it doesn't really matter to me. Out of these I'd go with Lowden, just because I'm not familiar with him.

What DO you like?
I wonder if Idris Elba still wants to be Bond.

Maybe as villian not as bond
The best bond will be Henry Cavill fight me, he was superman, wolverine, he got the looks and physique, or the actor played kickass and Kraven is also a good fit

He ruled himself out because he thinks he's too old to play the part.

Cavill would have been a great Bond, 10 years ago. He's in his 40's now and I think they want someone younger.

Yeah it sucks that it doesn't look like its going to happen now. When you see him in Luther think he would have made a perfect Bond. There's no reason you couldn't have maybe one off film with him in the role or at least make him another 00 agent.

Looks like Elordi is out, thank god! ๐Ÿ˜†

Think it will be Lowden now. But there is a mystery man in the frame so I hear.

Yes, and it's perfectly doable. After all, Bond wasn't even Scottish prior to Connery!
Who was the best Bond mr Trick? for me personally grow up with both Connery and Moore both had their flaws, my alltime favorite is Octopussy.

Probably Connery and Craig for me. I grew up with the Moore films too, and still enjoy some of them. The railway scenes in Octopussy were filmed quite near where I was born. I have a soft spot for Dalton. Most underrated Bond ever IMO.

License to kill is underrated, so must agree there also.

Oh, I would be VERY on board if they picked Idris! ๐Ÿ˜
Sadly now, I think he's been aged out of the running.

As to the original article - I don't think Jacob Elordi is the right choice. If it comes down to the names thrown about, Jack or Callum would probably be best.

My choices for Bond though? (in no particular order)
Henry Golding
Damson Idris
Jonathan Bailey
Rege-Jean Page

Special mentions to Richard Madden and Henry Cavill - but these gents are in their 40s now and might be looked over.

I know he's not as young as he was, but honestly, he's been around for long enough that I'm sure he's older than he looks!

Yeah, I think he looks younger than that. And he has pulled off action roles comparatively recently too.

I agree on both counts, but the team behind Bond want to have someone under contract to star in multiple films. So for example even if they signed him tomorrow, by the time they get the next 007 film written, and up and running to be filmed, that's another 12 months, at minimum. And there's usually a 3, to 4 year gap between films. He'd potentially by 60 in a second 007 movie.

And to be quite frank, I don't think he'd want to deal with any racist idiots if he was hired into the role.

Yes, I can easily see that happening. Even though it was Connery's performance made Bond Scottish and he has a French mother.
