New to Buffyverse, New here

He really is so entertaining!! Every scene is a scene stealer for me.
Wow, the fav episode is a really tough question. I enjoyed so many so I won't call them favs but continuing...Once More With Feeling, Tabulah Rasa, Touched, Hush, Grave...I am missing many more. My fav season is S6, I loved the themes explored there and it just felt like the seasons were getting better and better. It has my fav scenes in the entire show, and I just loveee it. Plus it gave us Spuffy (minus the horrible scene) so I love it more so. I did not enjoy S7 as much (I still did due to Spike) due to the Potentials storyline, it felt a bit rushed and I did not like Kennedy x Willow at all, it felt the writer didn't know what to do with Spike or Spuffy, among other issues.
I loved Druscilla, I actually started appreciating Tara even though I wasn't sure of her impact at the beginning. She's compassionate, a safe space for Buffy even, rational and powerful and so sweet and welcoming. Also Oz...Willow really got lucky with her partners haha. I love Faith, Giles (I can expand on it later, it's already getting long...). Oh, and I enjoyed Cordelia too, her character arc from Buffy to Angel was great (we need justice for her arc)
I did not enjoy S4/S5 starring Riley as much, he was okay in the beginning but he got more tiring and so unlikeable as we got more episodes. Least fav characters...I have a few/ I HATED Warren, I don't like the trio but that disgusting....I really disliked Xander sometimes but I understood his role too. I disliked Kennedy a lot. Angel (especially as Liam) because he is my least favorite character on Buffy but I like him on his own show. He’s a completely different personality and vibe (I feel Buffy and Angel stifle each other's personalities) and I liked Angelus.
I started on a whim, I didn't have anything on my watchlist and decided to go in with no expectations....and now I am completely obsessed and I cannot explain it. I watched everything, the only left is the movie 😱

I already typed so much, I hope you enjoy my lengthy reply😛😘
I love the humor in the o.g. Buffy movie, the time period (I almost have like an obsession with early 90s aesthetic ('91, '92 & '93). setting and characters like Buffys snobby valley girl friends (especially Hilary Swanks as Kimberly), Luke Perrys character Pike, and vampire Paul Reubens. Some of my favorite lines - "Does the word 'duh' mean anything to you?", "Kill him a lot", "I'm the chosen one. And I choose to be shopping."."Excuse much. Rude or anything? "Get out of my facial.", "It's a stupid dance with a bunch of stupid people that I see every stupid day." Three weeks ago, all I thought about was... well I didn't actually think about anything", "Buffy you're not like other girls... yes I am."

I could defend Riley & Kennedy. they both served as pivotal, critical devices in the character development of Buffy & Willow. Rileys story and role is a lot deeper than people give it credit for. And Kennedy served an essential purpose to give Willow that ability to grieve the loss of Tara even deeper- it's a strong way for Willow to end the series with a slayer by her side as a source of hope and power and love. Riley really loved Buffy as well and was a great boyfriend and perfect for her (as a monster fighter) and in general... despite his self-perceived inadequacies. I'm still glad they weren't actually endgame together for storytelling purposes of evolving the character.

Your other favorite episodes.. Hush is a classic and great standalone, technically the best horror episode. I love it more for being one of the most artistic, stylized episodes but actually isn't the best as in re-watch-ability. I do love the drama of Touched, Tabula Rasa & Grave. My tops include Once More with Feeling, Restless, Earshot, Who Are You?, Doppelgangland-, Family, The Prom, The Wish, Villains, Crush, Conversations with Dead People...

I also totally agree with you how much more likable Angel is on his own show. Do you like him with Cordelia? Favorite episodes of Angel?

I am more excited to watch the 90s movie now! Thank you.

Oh I understand Riley and Kennedy's roles. But I feel he treated Buffy horribly, he was too jealous of her abilities and couldn't accept that she was stronger than him, to the point that when Buffy's mother was sick instead of being there for her, he was being self centered in the wrong timing. Kennedy....I'm sure people have talked about her. I do not enjoy her on the screen at all.

I love him with Cordy! Cangel <3 I don't have many favs on Angel, I did enjoy S5 and thoroughly disliked S4. I really like Fred and loved Wesley's character development, I wish they had happy ending together!
