Hi all,

After funniest I'm curious to know what do you think were the saddest episodes of Buffy and Angel?

For Buffy, Becoming part 2, Grave and The Body made me ugly cry the most.

For Angel it's A hole in the world and Sleep tight

What about you?

I wept for half an hour straight after 'Becoming Part 2' so that will always top my list. Next would be 'The Body' then 'Innocence' and 'Passion' . I also think 'Dead Things' is up there as one of the most painful episodes because of Buffy's breakdown at the end, which kills me every time.

For Angel: 'A Hole in the World', 'Shells' and 'Home'

It’s that song at the end that does me in every freak time.
I think everyone has already covered most of the ones I would say. For BtVS, I also cry during The Gift, and on AtS, during Five by Five and Lullaby.

The ending of Five by Five is very emotional!
I can’t pick one, I’ll go with 3 for each.

BTVS
Becoming
Wild at Heart
The Body

Angel
Five by Five
A Hole in the World
Not Fade Away

Buffy - I cry at way too many Buffy episodes so I'll just wrap it up and pick 'Chosen'.
Angel: Shells - The flight scene with Angel and Spike and the flashback scene of Fred driving to L.A. are really heartbreaking.

There's episode that make me sad and want to cry, but only a few actually bring the tears.

Btvs: The Body, that opening just gets me. There's no monsters, no reason to assume anything had happened, and yet she's just there on the couch, lifeless. So tragic and unexpected.

Angel: A Whole in the World. As a big Fred fan and shipper of Fresley, this episode had me crying a lot. I still miss Fred. Wesley's desth scene also had me in tears.

I can't just choose one 😛
Buffy: The Body, Passion & The Gift
Angel: I Will Remember You, A Hole In The World & Tomorrow (That ending 😱 and the music 🙁)

Literally the most heartbreaking moment for me in the entire franchise is Fred saying "Why can't I stay?" Just the pure and complete innocence of that statement. It's so incredibly real and raw. Very powerful.

Ugly cry!!!
The Body
Dawn falling to the floor
Anya crying 'I don't understand how all this happens . . .'
Tara 'I know it's different for you . . . because it's always different'
and
Buffy: Was it sudden?
Tara: What?
Buffy: Your mother.
Tara: No. (thinks) Yes. (pauses) It's always sudden.

A lot of the big ones are covered here! Buffy makes me ugly cry a lot so I'll throw in a few episodes that surprised me with tears on my last rewatch!

Joyce telling Buffy she needs to protect Dawn in Listening to Fear: ""No, listen to me. No matter what she is, she still feels like my daughter. I have to know that you'll take care of her. That you'll keep her safe. That you'll love her like I love you."

Willow saying her goodbyes to Oz in New Moon Rising: "I was waiting. I feel like some part of me will always be waiting for you. Like if I'm old and blue-haired, and I turn the corner in Istanbul and there you are, I won't be surprised. Because... you're with me, you know?"

Definitely agree with the episodes already mentioned and I'll throw in a few more moments which got to me (there are so many sad episodes, the cast definitely do crying better than they do laughing!!!)

Buffy
Hells bells - when anya walks down the aisle alone
Tabula Rasa - giles leaving sunnydale and Tara leaving willow with the michelle Branch song in the background
Prophecy girl - "I'm 16 years old, I don't wanna die"

Angel
Hero - Doyle's heroic death
You're welcome - when Angel gets the phone call saying cordy has died
