Season 4 appreciation thread

I really did not like Season 4 at first and now it's my favorite season 🙂 Restless is one of my top three episodes of the whole series. I also love Primeval. There used to be a lot of things that happened in Season 4 that drove me crazy that I now think were extremely important for the character development of the Scoobies as individuals apart from one another, especially Buffy and Willow. I even think Buffy's relationship with Riley was deeply important to her finding some healing from the trauma of losing Angel and being tortured by Angelus, despite the fact that Riley ultimately becomes a walking example of toxic masculinity. Also healing from the grossness that was Parker. I also feel like the season is a necessary bridge between the first three and the last three seasons that helps transition the tone from the high school years to the more adult years and what Buffy's mission is (ultimately the continuous echoing of her waling alone until she finally has the realization to share the Slayer strength). Five stars all around.
