Which Hogwarts houses do you think BtVS characters would be sorted into?

Buffy has to be Gryffindor! Giles is a clear Ravenclaw. Tara a strong Hufflepuff.

Xander would be Hufflepuff
Willow would be Ravenclaw
Angel, Spike, and Anya are all too controversial to be sorted

Agree that Xander would be Hufflepuff. Willow could fit into Ravenclaw, Gryffindor or even Slytherin at times I'd argue but probably fits best in Ravenclaw with her intellect and quirkiness! 😀

I'd say Anya was probably a Slytherin...

Since I'm reading Harry Potter, I'll admit I've given this some thought.

- Lilah is a Slytherin obviously. She's ruthless, ambitious, resourceful.
- Darla is Slytherin too. She wants power and likes to manipulate situations and people to her advantage.
- Faith is hard for me to place, but I'd say she's more of a Grynffindor. She's strong, brave and daring. However, I always saw loyalty as one of Faith's best qualities. Faith was loyal to Buffy in the beginning and then became extremely loyal to Angel. She's not particularly patient or a fan of fair play though, so she can't be Hufflepuff.
- Wesley is a Slytherin I think. He uses knowledge as a tool. He doesn't want knowledge for the sake of being knowledgeable but rather as a resource. Wesley is above all pragmatic and ruthless in order to achieve results.
- Angel is a Gryffindor, I think. There's a lot of Hufflepuff in him as well. He's loyal, hard working, patient and quite fair. But, mostly, as a champion and a leader, he is daring (he dares to break the status quo and do the unthinkable), he is brave (faces death on a daily basis) and he has nerve (enough never to face forces more powerful than him and to defy them).
- Connor is a Gryffindor too. He is just like his father in terms of being daring, brave and having nerve. He killed Jasmine, faced beasts and demons in Quor'toth, fought The Beast, fought Sahjhan when he didn't even remember his fighting skills, fought Hamilton for his father, etc. He's also chivalrous.
- Gunn is a cross between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor to me. He's all about hard work, dedication, loyalty and fair play. He also has a lot of neve and is daring and brave. Considering his role in Angel - as someone who follows Angel but doesn't lead - he's more of a Hufflepuff.
- Lorne doesn't seem to fit in any of the houses? Maybe he's more of a Ravenclaw because he's so authentic? He's also full of knowledge, especially as an empath demon.
- Holland Manners and Hamilton are Slytherin.
- Fred is a cross between Ravenclaw and Slytherin. She loves knowledge for the sake of knowledge itself and is quite quirky. I'd say she's a Ravenclaw.
- Cordelia is a Gryffindor. She's not ambitious enough to be a Slytherin.
- Xander is a Hufflepuff (although he's plenty brave, his dedication, hard work and loyalty are bigger), Buffy is a Gryffindor, Giles is a Slytherin, Willow is a Slytherin.
- Dawn could be a Gryffindor, a Ravenclaw or even a Hufflepuff. In season 7, she's more of a Ravenclaw, but I think she's more of a Gryffindor (as every character apparently).
- Tara is a Ravenclaw, I think. She's authentic and different, and a witch who seeks to always know more.

I agree with most of these!

Interesting where you placed Tara - I can definitely see her as a Ravenclaw as well as a Hufflepuff since she does show a great interest in learning and developing as a witch, but not for the same reasons as Willow... I'd actually put both of Willow's exes into a Hufflepuff/Ravenclaw house mash up (we're ignoring Kennedy because she sucks!)

Giles and Willow being Slytherin is another interesting placement, both I think could belong to either Ravenclaw or Slytherin. Perhaps the typical Giles that comes to mind is more Ravenclaw but Ripper is definitely a Slytherin! Willow seems more Ravenclaw at the beginning of the series but as she develops she unveils extremely cunning and ambitious facets of her personality which are typical of a Slytherin.

For me Angel could possibly be a Slytherin purely because he is motivated by his ambitions whereas I'd say Spike is more Gryffindor.

Faith is easily a Gryffindor!

Enjoy seeing how others place these characters!

Given how heroic Xander is combined with his sometimes obnoxiousness, I feel he is a Gryffindor. They tend to be stupidly brave and obnoxiously self-righteous and show offs as times, just as Xander can be (particularly as a teen). He jokes about being scared, and I don't doubt he is, but that just emphasizes how brave he is rather than merely clueless. But he still chooses the less easy path rather than letting someone else do it, and sometimes he pushes himself much more than he should. That's a guy willing to die for his friends, rather than for knowledge or power. And he'd like to be more admired than he is, as any Gryffindor in his place would be.

Giles and Willow both seek knowledge but the ways in which they use their knowledge is what makes them Slytherin. They both want and seek knowledge because of its usefulness and power. Giles needs knowledge to help the slayer and so does Willow. She also needs knowledge to become a better witch and to be powerful and capable. I think they are both resourceful and cunning. Giles killed Ben for the greater good.

Angel is ambitious but so is Hermione, for example. Angel is no more ambitious than Hermione is and she is a Gryffindor. Angel is only ambitious in the sense that he wishes to achieve redemption and help people. But both of those things involve daring and bravery more than they involve cunning or resourcefulness, I think. Angelus is a Slytherin though since he's purely driven by his evil ambitions.

I take your point and think that's a good analysis of Xander and think he could definitely be placed in Gryffindor for his almost reckless bravery but would still feel inclined to place him in Hufflepuff due to his loyal nature and how he .. God-damn I think you're right about Gryffindor actually. He is just not hardworking enough and patient to be Hufflepuff

Gahh I take your point about Angel being Gryffindor but I think he is Slytherin still because of how ambitious he is, always got a cunning plan and is very resourceful in achieving his ambitions whether he is Angel or Angelus IMO.

Gryffindor: Buffy, Cordelia, Kennedy, Faith, Dawn

Slytherin: Willow, Giles, Angel, Wesley, Darla, Lilah, Anya

Ravenclaw: Oz, Tara, Dru, Fred, Lorne

Hufflepuff: Xander, Doyle, Jenny, Spike, Gunn

I agree! Xander was always more of a Gryffindor than a Hufflepuff. His bravery outshines his loyalty (I've never seen Xander as any more loyal than any other character. In fact, would you call someone who cheated on his girlfriend, kept an important information away from his leader and lied to her "Kick his ass", ganged up on Buffy in Dead Man's Party and kicked her out of her house in Empty Places loyal???) Xander is loyal because he's stuck around for years but the same could be said about Willow and Giles and Dawn and Tara. Xander's loyalty isn't more special than other characters.

However, Xander's bravery is. The guy is without superpowers and yet fights in the same row as the other super powered fighters. He's the guy who followed Buffy to the sewers to rescue Jesse a few minutes after he learned that vampires were real. Xander is courageous and reckless and self-righteous, all qualities of a Gryffindor.

I think Xander is hardworking from S4 on. But yeah, he was a great slacker in the high school years.

Gryffindor = Buffy, Angel and Xander.

Slytherin = Giles, Willow, Spike, Wesley, Cordelia, Lilah.

Although some of the people I put in Slytherin are brave I don't think they value bravery so I couldn't put them in gryffindor.

Hufflepuff= Tara,Gunn, Oz.

Ravenclaw = Dawn.

Divergent = Faith. I can't decide whether she's a Slytherin or a gryffindor😳

By the way I'm not calling the people in Slytherin evil because not all Slytherins are evil. Similarly, not all gryffindors are good.

Can this be JK rowling's next book please? 🙁

Gryffindor: Buffy, Cordelia, Kennedy, Faith, Dawn

Slytherin: Willow, Giles, Angel, Wesley, Darla, Lilah, Anya

Ravenclaw: Oz, Tara, Dru, Fred, Lorne

Hufflepuff: Xander, Doyle, Jenny, Spike, Gunn

Slytherin: Giles, Angel, Wesley, Darla, Lilah, Anya, Dru

Ravenclaw: Fred, Lorne, Jenny

Hufflepuff: Xander, Doyle, Spike, Gunn, Oz, Tara

Yours was pretty much pefect. I swapped around some that I am conflicted about.

I alsto took out Willow, because she belongs in all the houses. Brave? Check! Ambitious and cunning? Check! Smart? Check! Loyal? Check!

Buffy: Total Gryffindor. She's brave, daring and courageous.
Willow: She can be both Slytherin and Ravenclaw. She's smart, creative, wise and understanding but she's also ambitious, resourceful, cunning and is aware of her awesomeness. But for me she's more Slytherin.
Xander: Hufflepuff. He is self righteous, loyal and tries to be kind.

Andrew would beg the sorting hat to put him in Slytherin and spend all of his time at Hogwarts trying to be the next Lord Voldemort and failing hilariously at being a badass villain... Again.

(Sorry Andy, I love you, but you are such an inept little Ponce 99% of the time.)

Oh! Crossover. The trio at Hogwarts. That would be wacky fun.

Some of these are really hard tk sort but this a fun question...

1. Buffy - Definitely Gryffindor. She's brave, strong, and is a natural leader. Being the hero, Gryffindor suits her perfectly.

2. Willow - Ravenclaw. She's extremely bookish and kind of quirky. She keeps to herself and knows her place and has shown vast knowledge and talent in numerous fields of study from magic to chemistry to psychology to computer science, etc. And is always ambitious her education like her enthusiasm on the first day of college in season 4.

3. Xander - Hufflepuff. He's not really a leader and is good hearted despite being kind of a third wheel at times. Hes also good at finding things like the bazzooka needed in season 2 to stop the one demon.

4. Giles - Ravenclaw. Very bookish and stern to the point of absolute discipline. Definitely fits in this house.

5. Tara - Probably Ravenclaw, but I could also see her as a Hufflepuff. I kinda on the fence with this one but in the end I'll say Ravenclaw because of how bookish and tranquil she is. She really values learning

6. Anya - This is another hard one. Im on the fence with Slytherin and Hufflepuff. If you're talking about time as an anyanka, definitely Slytherin because she was cold, ruthless, ambitious, and sadistic. But if you're talking about her over the course of the show where she grows and eveloos a conscience, probably Hufflepuff because she mellows out a low and sees the error of her old ways, as evidenced in selfless.

7. Faith - This is another hard in, but I'd say Gryffindor. I could also see her in slytherin if we're talking about prior to redemption. She does what she wants and is ambitious, but at the same time she is extremely brave and can be heroic and turns to the light, so I'll go with Gryffindor in the end.

8. Cordelia - Probably Hufflepuff because of how long she becomes. She definitely has some characteristics of Gryffindor too though, like bravery. But she's more of a follower than a leader. So Hufflepuff.

9. Spike - Slytherin. He has Slytherin written all over him even after he got a soul. He's ambitious and shady abd does what he wants to the point he can be kind of ridiculous. He's very obsessed with Buffy and has that dark edge to him that Slytherin have.

10. Drusilla - Slytherin. Oh hell, her and Spike are king and queen of Slytherin. For all the same reasons as Spike, she's definitely Slytherin. And honestly, when I saw season 2, I found her to be even more creepy and evil and threatening than Spike... She's the queen of Slytherin.

11. Darla - probably Slytherin. It's fits her.

12. Oz - Hufflepuff. He's soft and is just kinda there. I always felt like he never had much of a purpose on the show other than being Willow's bf. But he's nice, he's loyal, and hes not much of a leader like say Buffy or Angel or Faith...

13. Gunn - Hufflepuff. Hes more of a flower than a leader but he is definitely loyal and believes in fair play.

14. Fred - definitely Ravenclaw. She's kind if the willow of AtS. Very intelligent and creative.

15. Wesley - just like Giles and for all the same reasons, ravenclaw.

16. Jenny Calendar - Ravenclaw. She's smart, disciplined, and is very bookish and dedicated her life to education.

17. Angel - Gryffindor. Like Buffy. He's a natural leader and is strong and daring. He also has qualities of Hufflepuff as well, being loyal and kind... But Gryffindor overrules it. He's definitely Gryffindor.

SORRY ABOUT THE SPELLING ERRORS. MY SPELL CHECK ON MY PHONE IS AWFUL.
