It's gotten to a point where I cannot give a minus 1. I'm only putting Smashed because there was a lot of hate between the two, even if we all know it was just firing passion.

These are all great episodes but why are Dead Things and Smashed so high comparatively? I'm just trying to understand why those would place above some of the others that are left for some people. It could just be that noone has felt it has been time to 'minus' them so far, so they've just been gathering 'up' votes, if you see what I mean. I'd probably place FFL, OMWF and Showtime above them personally. Perhaps I'm forgetting something about them, but I'm just interested in why those two are so high against the others. 🙂

Dead Things is one of my all time favourite episodes. It has a couple of iconic Spuffy moment. I love the passion of the fight in the alley, that Spike doesn't stop Buffy, he just takes it. It also has the balcony scene which is another iconic moment, which I personally love. It also has one of the shows most disturbing deaths, with the attempted rape and actual murder of Katrina, which is so powerful and moves the show up a gear. It's just an amazing, disturbing, powerful episode

I hate taking points away from any of these eps too. They are all so good 🙁
 
Oh I love it as an episode and I love the Spuffy of it, but they are moments which also have some darker, more negative aspects threaded through them. On one side that makes them complex scenes, an aspect of Spuffy I adore, but in a favourite Spuffy episode ranking I'm not sure I'd place it over FFL, OMWF or Showtime. All of these also have complex aspects too, or more positive connections between them as well. I don't know, it is tough to choose now basically and I was just wondering if anyone was thinking of things that I had forgotten. 🙂

FFL is such an amazing episode. Yes it is a Spike centric one but so much of it feeds into Spuffy and connects to past/future developments. And that last scene between them is excellent. Spike dropping his attempt at a front and just simply asking what is wrong, what he can do, is brilliant. Buffy willing to sit with him and accept his attempt to comfort her. It's just great, it should last longer imo and I'd definitely keep it over TR as well as some others (even though I think that they are all great episodes). The problem we have now really is we're all going to have slightly different orders and could just find ourselves cancelling each other out loads so I won't totally reverse the last vote. :s

I wouldn't put Smashed in the top three, or the top five even. It has done well to get to here and that is because yes it was super hot, absolutely, but there is so much more to them than that. I just don't think it should get much further personally. There are few enough of us that we may just not be able to agree or two people that do can walk over a third that strongly disagrees. Not sure it is going to work too well from here. :s
