The Forest of Woolanash.

Darryl and Rosie took their daughter Christi from the home they had made for themselves and moved to the farmhouse in the Forest of Woolanash in theSouth Western of England, near the village of Buckfastleigh that Darryl and Rosie had once rented, they were happy to be back in the 500 acres wood once again. Darryl hoped he would be able to regain his ability of writing books again.

In the morning of the first week Rosie suggested to Christi that she should search each of the rooms of the farmhouse to find herself a suitable bedroom. By eleven that morning Christi thought she might have discovered the room she wanted, it was the attic. Christi wandered onto the highly the polished wooden floor. Christi stood facing the window, she had clear sight of a field of long grass that when the wind blew over the grasses it appeared to seem like the waves of the ocean.

Looking into the boxes and crates Christi found in the attic she discovered a base of a bed and its mattress. In a subsequent box she looked in Christi discovered the blankets, sheets and pillows with which to make the bed. Behind those boxes Christi found a shelf unit that was suitable for ornaments and books, she decided to put the unit under the window.

After looking in a subsequent box Christi found a large quantity of books, two of which much to her surprise were written by her father, both of the books were about a coven of witches that frequented lands of the forest around the farmhouse. Ignoring the rest of the room Christi began reading the books her father had written and was amazed that both of them were about the witches that once lived in that forest.

Though there was nothing written about where the witches stayed, all that was said of them was their names, when they lived in the forest and what each of the witches specialised in. Christi thought of what was carved into the rock above the inside of the front door. It gave Christi food for thought as something she had learnt was the written greeting or a farewell to another witch.

It said 'Blessed Be to all those who live in the house.' That caused Christi to think long and hard about the character of the people who first owned the farmhouse. How did they know that only witches would live in the farmhouse, it caused her to wonder if her mother or father were witches. She smiled to herself could she be the witch? Christi wanted to think of herself as a witch though she didn't really consider herself to be that proficient in any of the workings of a witch.

Christi chose to be concerned by news of her mothers brothers friend coming from America, the girl had got herself into some strife over there and she was to be taught the error of her ways by a coven. Christi was impressed as that meant the girl from America was herself a witch.

Christi decided to increase her proficiency in the craft by trying to roll a short tube over the bookshelf using just her mind to make the plastic tube roll. She would often try to contact the dead by the use of cards, or setting out letters and numbers to allow others to talk to her. Christi enjoyed that method, she would try to use it to contact only those she knew were alive, as in the German game using an Ouija board was originally intended.

Christi chose to concentrate her will to discover what was or what would be, Christi kept a record of what she learnt during those times, in case what was learnt was the truth. Christi liked that her bedroom was the attic, because being at the top of the house meant no one would wander into the room except her mother when she didn't put her dirty clothes out for washing.

That way Christi could keep her tools, cards talismans and books about witchcraft in the open on her bed without having to worry other people touch them.

Darryl and Rosie were able to bond with the countryside in and around the Forest of Woolanash although they grew further apart from Christi. Christi had met a man who was on a holiday in the area, she spent all her time with him. Even after he left the area and went back to his home she kept in touch with him.

Regardless of how long they were away from each other they kept in touch, he longed to return to that area near the Forest of Woolanash. He did like the bond he had begun to form with Christi, yet he disliked the problems he had begun to have with notions of either being a pilot for the RAF or staying at home to be a greengrocer.

It had never occurred to him that there was another option, spending time with Christi might open the doors for that other life. There was nothing between him and Christi though they did get on well together, he liked her belief in the world of magic and enjoyed it when she made items appear from nothing.

It was from the first time that he witnessed her placing a 5 pound note on the table in front of them. Then within an hour she had caused an exact replica of that 5 pound note to appear beside it. It was when she refused to use that note that Rupert first felt the real feeling of beginning to have feelings for her.

Christi said that she had brought forward the replica of the 5 pound note, facing him Christi said the note had the same number so she would not use it as money. Knowing that Christi would force her will on another to make that person do as she wanted made Rupert take a greater degree of notice in Christi.

It was when Christi had him blend her ability to curse a person to do as she wanted, Rupert wanted to understand more about her thoughts. Christi smiled, “If I want the person to buy me some potatoes I will alter that person mind to want to buy me some potatoes, I might even want the person to peel, then cut, slice boil the potatoes to mash them,

Christi grinned to Rupert, “I would not be showing off it I had the person add some butter to the mix so that the mashed potato would taste better,” Rupert asked her if there was anything she would do that might help other people?” Christi smiled to Rupert, “Something I regularly do is make a cream to ease a farmers aching muscles.

I use a bow and arrow that has some heavy string attached to it so I don't lose it, I aim at a small branch towards the top of an Oak tree, when I have what I want I'll crush the bit of a branch then add boiling water with a few leaves from a nettle to it into a hot cream. Once it has cooled I'll blend in some crushed thin Comfrey roots to the mix.

If the mix isn't very pliable I'll add some beeswax so the farmer can spread it over his affected area of skin. I do like knowing that I can use my gifts to help people. Rupert asked Christi if she had ever had the thought of not helping people? Christi looked deep into his eyes then smiled, “In your future, many years from now I see there is a man in the council you are thinking of joining that you dislike,

rather than doing than making a potion that would be detrimental to him, leave him be as he will be of help to you in the coming years. I can teach you how to quietly curse him to do as you want him to do. ”Rupert asked her how he would know when to use the curse? “In the distant future you will be living in America,

your charge will be a Vampire Slayer whose name is Buffy Summers, others from the Watchers Council will be trying to force their will on your Slayer. Allow her to think that them changing their minds is all her doing but know this, it will be you casting this curse on them that will be what you will need.”

Later that evening when Rupert sat in his room he took the book from his bookshelf and entered what Christi had said about her prophecy, placing the journal on the table in front of them Rupert faced the title of the book and smiled,
' The Journal of Rupert Giles '

Looking at the name on the journal Giles remembered the time when Buffy had first got to Sunnydale and how it was now that those times were about to be renewed. Giles chose to have that name of Darryl become his second middle name once again. Giles led Willow down the stone steps into the rooms that were the cellar,

then he led her into the adjacent room that had been set up as a classroom, Giles introduced Willow to all the women in the room. “Those here have replaced those who you once knew as the coven. Giles declared Victoriana to be the leader of them, he then told Willow that her gift is that she knows when a person is telling the truth.

The next young woman is Carissa her ability is to track a person through the air,” said Giles. Another woman could be seen to be coming towards them, she appeared to be in her late teens. “This is Niamh she has the gift of healing a person’s injuries, be that a cut or a broken bone, she could heal a person just by laying her hand on a person’s cut.

Victoriana pursed her lips then said that Marnie was a cheerful girl who could track people through the water, Victoriana introduced the next woman as Angharad. Her gift is that she is a shape shifter, the woman sat on her right hand side is Brayleigh, she has the gift of telekinesis, she can move any object or objects at will.

While her ability might not seem like much when you do witness what she can do you will be amazed at what she can do,” said Victoriana. Victoriana then directed her gaze to Annette. "Her powers relate to her ability to control the element that is fire, her best friend is Meredith, her gift is that she can move faster than any other I have met.

She has the ability to go without food or water for several weeks that will be without any noticeable deterioration, it isn’t known the name of what element she has the control over though some people have suggested that she might a vampire. Victoriana smirked as she faced Katie, then she started to tell everyone about Katie.

Katie’s ability is that she can breathe underwater and for extended periods of time,” said Victoriana. “And this is Marion, she has the gift of relating to a horse any horse,” said Victoriana. Victoriana went to the front of the room, she told everyone there that a friend of the coven had been recently killed and her body is thought to have been dumped in a river,

we have been asked to help the police find her body,” said Victoriana, do you think we can do anything about it?” asked Victoriana. “Given the talents of those here I would say that we can,” said Astrid. Victoriana wanted them all to know what was had indeed happened though none of the women were at all aware of anything that had just happened.

Annette faced Victoriana, “What are you referring to?” asked Annette. Astrid told Annette that a woman known as Beverley Thatcher who was a friend of the coven had been taken by force and her body had been hidden in a body of water somewhere near to them. The police were dragging any waters they thought necessary

though exactly where they needed to run the lines across the waters nor indeed which body of water they should begin on, only that a clairvoyant had indicated that she was put in water so they began at where they thought most logical. Normally though the police were unwilling to put to much trust in a clairvoyant

the person did give them correct information about how the woman was captured and that she was taken from her home. Victoriana relayed information to the coven that the woman, Beverly Thatcher had once protected Brayleigh when she had falsely been accused of witchcraft. Beverly knew Brayleigh was a witch but was aware she had not done what some people had accused her of

so Beverly hid her from all those who would do her harm. Astrid spoke to Victoriana to try and get help for Brayleigh. Victoriana requested Katie and Marnie to begin the search for Brayleigh, Angharad was charged with finding where she had been put into the water, Marion led a search team so a second unit could help find an exact location.

To begin the underwater search. Angharad became a wolf so that Brayleighs scent could be tracked through the dense undergrowth of her garden, Angharad led a team of people through the forest to the banks of a river where she had been placed in a small rowing boat. Though there were no obvious tracks to follow

Marnie was able to follow the path of the small boat. Once they landed to wander to another body of water where their friend was unceremoniously dumped in the deepest part of that lake.

(sorry to anyone who has followed the story but I had written myself into an un-escape able corner at the end of part 2 so I had to find another direction for part 3. Having just watched episode 3 (?) of Wednesday season 1 helped in that regard)
