I like Buffy (most of the time), Joan, but I just love a lot of the other characters more. It's no slight against her, though there are times I think she makes bad decisions or is, perhaps, colder to her friends than she should be (though I can understand why she has some of the issues she does; I'm not trying to vilify her, only explain why she's farther down the list for me.)
Have you read Buffy S8-12?
Not all of it, no. I read season eight when it was new, and I think the majority of season nine, as well as the
Angel & Faith series (was it only like twelve issues, or did I just not read all of it? I'm not sure anymore, given how long it's been.)
I liked some of the stories, wasn't big on others. I think because of the lack of special effects constraints, some of it was a bit over the top for my taste. I guess I just prefer my
Buffy in live-action. That said, I (from what I recall) preferred the
Angel & Faith comic.

Fray? Fray I really loved. Actually, if we were including comic characters and counting her as a
Buffy character (she
is in the same universe), then I'd probably have to drop someone from my list of ten to include Mel (Melaka Fray.)
