Wasted Potential: Greatest Characters Who Didn't Last?

I think Sunday could've hung around longer. She was originally conceived as a Slaypire (Slayer turned Vampire) so that could've been an interesting storyline for Buffy to have to face.

That would have been an awesome storyline.

It's not a character, but I've always thought not exploring Giles' past was a huge missed opportunity.

You know..This is one prequel show that I think could still work.

I always liked that guidance counselor from “Beauty and the Beasts”. The one who smokes and is of course killed immediately. He makes a positive impression.

This is a good one... she always seemed like a lot more then just a werewolf. Had they not just wanted to write Oz out, she could have been an antagonist for a few more episodes. A flip of Oz's cool good guy, she could have been a manipulative psycho whose predatory nature made her want to kill. Maybe Buffy had killed one of her earlier mates in a her early slaying days... or perhaps she has a some sort of ongoing vendetta against Willow for taming Oz. To often werewolves are depicted as only sad cursed humans who aren't at fault for their actions as the wolf... but flipping the script, and having one own their nature and relish the violence they inflict would be a great ongoing enemy.

From what I understand, this was the original intention, but they were forced to condense the storyline after Seth Green asked to be let out of his contract.
