Ok so this is very important...If you could choose...

Which song would you sing at Caritas so that Lorne can send you on the right path?

Can't wait to see your answer 😛

It's nine o'clock on a Saturday
The regular crowd shuffles in
There's an old man sitting next to me
Makin' love to his tonic and gin

He says, "Son, can you play me a memory
I'm not really sure how it goes
But it's sad and it's sweet and I knew it complete
When I wore a younger man's clothes."

La la la, di da da
La la, di da da da dum

Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright

Now John at the bar is a friend of mine
He gets me my drinks for free
And he's quick with a joke or to light up your smoke
But there's someplace that he'd rather be
He says, "Bill, I believe this is killing me."
As the smile ran away from his face
"Well I'm sure that I could be a movie star
If I could get out of this place"

Oh, la la la, di da da
La la, di da da da dum

Now Paul is a real estate novelist
Who never had time for a wife
And he's talkin' with Davy, who's still in the Navy
And probably will be for life

And the waitress is practicing politics
As the businessmen slowly get stoned
Yes, they're sharing a drink they call loneliness
But it's better than drinkin' alone

Sing us a song you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well we're all in the mood for a melody
And you got us feeling alright

It's a pretty good crowd for a Saturday
And the manager gives me a smile
'Cause he knows that it's me they've been comin' to see
To forget about life for a while
And the piano, it sounds like a carnival
And the microphone smells like a beer
And they sit at the bar and put bread in my jar
And say, "Man, what are you doin' here?"

Oh, la la la, di da da
La la, di da da da dum

Sing us a song you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well we're all in the mood for a melody
And you got us feeling alright

Either the punk version of 'I did it my way' (Although I always sing it as 'I did it sideways' for some reason?)

Or if I was going for a more mellow styling

Hotel California by the Eagles 🙂

I don't want to know why you say " I did it sideway " !
The horror .

Ooh, yeah, Hotel California would be my back-up song :D

Scar
Missy Higgins
He left a card, a bar of soap and a scrubbing brush next to a note
That said "use these down to your bones"
And before I knew I had shiny skin and it felt easy being clean like him
I thought "this one knows better than I do"
A triangle trying to squeeze through a circle
He tried to cut me so I'd fit
And doesn't that sound familiar? Doesn't that hit too close to home?
Doesn't that make you shiver; the way things could've gone?
And doesn't it feel peculiar when everyone wants a little more?
And so that I do remember to never go that far,
Could you leave me with a scar?
So the next one came with a bag of treats, she smelled like sugar and
spoke like the sea
And she told me don't trust them, trust me
Then she pulled at my stitches one by one, looked at my insides clicking
her tongue and said
"This will all have to come undone"
A triangle trying to squeeze through a circle
She tried to cut me so I'd fit
And doesn't that sound familiar? Doesn't that hit too close to home?
Doesn't that make you shiver; the way things could have gone?
And doesn't it feel peculiar when everyone wants a little more?
And so that I do remember to never go that far,
Could you leave me with a scar?
And I realized just in time, although my old self was hard to find
You can bathe me in your finest wine but I'll never give you mine
''cause I'm a little bit tired of fearing that I'll be the bad fruit nobody buys
Tell me, did you think we'd all dream the same?
And doesn't that sound familiar? Doesn't that hit too close to home?
Doesn't that make you shiver; the way things could have gone?
And doesn't it feel peculiar when everyone wants a little more?
And so that I do remember to never go that far,
Could you leave me with a scar?
Could you leave me with a scar?

This one for the waily singy bit.

Feet Touch the Ground
Jebediah
So I thought the worst was over
When my heart stopped beating again
And the weak side of my body has come undone
Through trusting them
So we walked into the building
Took the lift to the third floor
Pain lies behind that door what am I to do now?
When what they tell me is what they sell me
When what they tell me is what they sell me
And I know to be realistic
Will save me from the shock to come
Any fool believes what you tell them
Happiness in being dumb
So we listened to the experts
Everyone needs some kind of guide to help them
See deep inside what am I to do now?
When what they tell me is what they sell me
When what they tell me is what they sell me
And it's not the truth
But I'm not calming down
'Till my feet touch the ground
So I thought the worst was over
When my heart stopped beating again
And the weak side of my body doubled up
I'm never trusting them
So don't listen to the experts
'cause I've seen they don't know anything
Can you hear the truth ring what am I to do now?
When what they tell me is what they sell me
When what they tell me is what they sell me
And it's not the truth
But I'm not calming down
'Till my feet touch the ground
No I'm not calming down
'Till my feet touch the ground
(Further away everyday
Feels like your falling away)
No I'm not calming down
'Till my feet touch the ground
'Till my feet touch the ground

Perhaps the song choices are telling enough.

I feel like I’d sing something like “Stormy Weather” and I’d think I looked like a cool lounge singer sorda like this:

But really I’d look like this:

(But like a girl)

I'd have to sing something where you don't exactly have to be a singer to sing it.

Which probably means I'd end up singing something silly like Chantilly Lace where you don't actually have to SING. That's just talking fast with corny inflections.

Either that, or my extensive knowledge of Elvis songs would come out. A lot. Everything out of me would be Oldies, because I actually know those lyrics. I should know the lyrics, given that I play Oldies all day long to entertain a cockatoo, a parrot and a canary. LMAO.

Belting out An American Trilogy (Dixie Land, Battle Hymn of the Republic and Hush, Little Baby) is one of my go-tos for singing to myself.

Suffice to say, I'd musically get along very well with Lorne and Angel.
