Who is your favorite one episode character?

Both of those would be my first pick too. Sunday was so memorable. Its been fun to read ask the fleshed out fan theories about her over the years and what she could have been if she ended up as a big bad.

I agree, she had so much personality for a one episode vampire! I've read some of those fan theories on Reddit and it would have been so interesting to see her as a big bad, or even a recurring vampire like Season 2 era Spike.

Normally Sunday, but given that is the most common answer, another S4 character(s). The Gentlemen. They come into town, take away voices, take hearts from the still-living then leave when they have enough. Why? For what purpose? No-one knows. That's what makes them scary.

Sunday and Holden are good. I'd probably choose Holden. But since he's already picked, I feel like adding someone new, and so I nominate Sweet from Once More with Feeling. I'm having a hard time choosing between Sweet and Holden.
Sweet is a great choice, he's such an iconic Buffy villain! It's so cool he was played by an award winning Broadway star, you can definitely tell with his stage presence and voice. Holden is great too, though, his psychoanalysis of Buffy is one of my favorite season 7 scenes. I love when the one-off vampires have personality, it really adds some interest to Buffy's usual patrol scenes.

Another great villain! The fact that they were fairy tale villains and not in the demon lore always intrigued me. How old are they? How long were they stealing hearts before Buffy stopped them? Why hadn't any Slayer heard of them before, as far as we know? Quite mysterious. Though I will say, if students at my school were getting their hearts removed in their locked dorm rooms, I would unenroll pronto.
I kind of like the loan shark.
I forgot about him! That was a funny visual gag, the fact that he was loaning kittens made it even better.

I think the lack of information on them is what makes them work. They're the sort of villain it's tempting to come back to, but when you do, more is found out about them, and the more you know, often the less scarier they are.

This is Sunnydale. Anywhere else, horrific. Sunnydale, just an average Tuesday.

Very true!
The Loan Shark Demon/ Demon Loan Shark/ Rosharku: The audacity of the whole thing! I actually do like him, Demons should take on forms related to their vice, and after Doc and Rack, it's nice to see a villain who doesn't dress like a vagrant.

Oh yeah, all the cheesy Season 1 Herc & Xena reject vampires/Master's court idiots have this great stupid quality to them. Like the buff religious fanatic on the bus, or the Three, or Luke, or Island Vampires. Even early season 2 guys, like the Cowboy Dracula Brothers, or the Judge. They deserve an honorable mention.

Heck, just remember, there's a version of Spike out there with a terrible British accent that Ripper was never inclined to accent coach. I mean, think about how we talk about Liam's or Kendra's accent, that could have been Spike! I mean, Dru would be fine, J has a legit accent, but full Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins edition Spike!

Cor blimey!
Does Anne Steele count? I know she shows up twice in Buffy, but she goes by different names...

If not, my vote goes to Holden.

I'm for it. I would support an exception for her, because she does change gimmicks, and the villains from Slayerfest, because that's a team up episode.
