Who is your least favourite character from BTVS?

Talking of bland goody two shoes, I'm not a big Fred fan. Sorry @Mr Trick, I know you adore her. I just found her irritating to begin with, then quite bland, and now I'm watching season 4, she's flirting with Wes and treating Gunn really badly 🙁

Oh that's interesting so you prefer Spike as a good guy more than a bad guy? Not sure many would agree with that😀 No, he's a entertaining villain, but I still buy him as a threat and he is more of a Joker style villain in that he is sneaky and a thinking man's vampire😉 The reason I believed in his switch to the good side is that even as a villain you could see his human side and depth. Hero or villain, Spike is always a mix of light and dark. Actually think Warren's quite boring.

I thought you said Fred had grown on you after a slow start?😛 No, she's great, so want to marry Acker!!😛

@Priceless and I have to fight for our belief in Spike as a good guy because people always either only love him as a bad guy or hate him overall. I agree with @Mr Trick on Fred though she is awesome, and every time Amy Acker smiles I would also like to marry her.

I like Spike as both a good guy and bad guy. Wasn't knocking him as a goodie but was just surprised that there's someone who actually likes him more as a face than a heel to use a wrestling phase🙂

Don't get me wrong, I love every version of Spike 😀 But in the list of Buffy villains, he's quite low down. I love him, but he's not a great villain. He likes a good fight, but a baddie needs to be more that that. Buffy sweet talked him into dropping his weapon at their first fight. To me, Spike just wasn't the best at being bad, although I agree he was very charismatic and funny.

They were meant to have bigger plans for the annoying one but the kid grew too much over the summer hence why he is sitting down in all his scenes in season 2. Having Spike kill him actually works better for the story rather than having the annoying one hanging around.
 
My most hated character is Spike. Can't stand him at this point though I like him in seasons 2 and 3. In season 4, he already comes across as unnecessary and plot device-y. In seasons 5, 6 and 7, I just want him to die a painful death.

My least favourite character is Xander...I would've said Kennedy, but she was only in S7. Xander's been around forever and he got worse with each passing season. Weak, judgemental, sneaky, and hiding behind a jovial facade. Lying to Buffy about what Willow said ("Kick his ass."), leaving Anya at the altar; there's so many instances of his nastiness.
 
I'm taking a stab at one of the scoobies: Xander.

I don't like his many ill-timed and inappropriate (and often very unfunny) jokes (in some episodes literally every line or other line is a joke, and I've never liked guys who did nothing but offer jokes, especially when the matter is serious), his blind and unintelligible rage (every time he was critical of Buffy he went way beyond the line) and he fails to see his sometimes hypocritical positions (his rants against Buffy for instance). He displays much cowardice too (while I don't like Anya very much, his running away from marriage came from nowhere but his sheer blind fear). He has a weird quality of being likeable to fans anyway, but if he was real there is no way I would let him be friends with me.

I understand your reasoning with the one exception of calling Xander a coward, which is one thing he is not. I suppose his leaving Anya could be described as a type of cowardice, though that seems to simplify it a bit much, and I'd think he was more scared for her than for himself. But for the most part he was incredibly brave.

I can see what you mean; on the other hand, I think the general dislike of Anya causes a lot of people to see Xander in a more flattering light than he might deserve with regard to his leaving Anya at the alter. Not you, just in general. Maybe I have a harsh assessment of Xander, but he suffers from so many petty flaws that characterize small, human, all too human people that I can't help but read into him the many unwarranted fears that are at the center of many people like that. One person might characterize this collection of flaws and its center as cowardice; another might be more empathetic for his condition and call these flaws and fears something else, as coming from somewhere else. My perspective on Xander is more suspicious, I won't deny it.
 
Anya (speaking to Xander, end of the episode Entropy): "No, the mature solution is for you to spend your whole life telling stupid, pointless jokes so that no one will notice that you are just a scared, insecure little boy." I think Anya was right about Xander.

Just for the record, I do despise how Xander left Anya, but partially blame the writers for having the goal of being as depressing as they could be (until the don't-bet-on-it ending).

See I always thought that because they never expected a Season 2, when they got a Season 2, they all of a sudden had this supposedly unaging vampire kid who'd aged about 3 years in one summer, so they had to do something with him. Best decision ever to kill him off, but the fact the show came back forced their hand on it. They honestly couldn't have believed he would stay a perpetual child?! 🙄

I think they were hoping for a season 2 and had plans in place (They never did much with the annoying one in Season 1 despite the fanfare about the "anointed one" and he survived) but I don't think they expected the kid to grow as fast as he did. They probably thought they could use him for the first half/quarter of season 2 but that became impossible because of how tall he'd gotten and vampires aren't supposed to age. Adult aging is a lot less noticeable than kid aging. Still, it was a good way to right the character out as it felt organic to the story instead of coming across as a hasty add in.
 
Connor. Conner Conner Conner. How can You like him? It's just ridiculous to me how he never likes his own Father! I mean seriously, daddy issues is one thing, but c'mon man. Literally every episode where he is a big character, (except of course Orpheus) is a disaster. Season 4 of Angel would have been so much better if he wasn't in it. Season 5 was a good Connor season, but he had to literally be a different person!

I agree about Warren... but I get homicidal when anyone hates on Andrew. (Regard it as a mental pathology/personality quirk of mine.) 😛
 
I didn't like Wesley in Buffy at all he was extremely annoying to me. But in Angel Wesley is muh boy!!
 
I didn't like Andrew, probably for the original Willow factor where having the right actor basically makes or breaks a character. Riley and Kennedy probably suffered from this as well, although I don't mind them as much. I think Tara was another victim, but since there are a lot of people who love that character, I've decided it might just be me.
