Everyone, no matter how evolved they believe themselves to be, still has something that makes them overthink and second-guess themselves. My point is I'm asking everyone to reveal something about yourselves that lowers the mask that we all wear just a little bit. It doesn't have to be super close to the chest. Something that lets us know you a little better. I'll start.
I have a fear of heights, and I'm too trusting. See, I'm not asking for your skeletons.

I'm an ambivert, ambidextrous & bisexual. Remember when I told a friend that I was an ambivert. She was like: "gawd even your personality is bi!" 😃

What ambivert means and ambidextrous? And are you more into women or men?

I would invite to coffee, Have your soapbox ready. Left or right works. And you have double the dating opportunitie :)

Okay. You already know I tell a lot of jokes ('cause, well, you've seen my speak) and that I'm slightly less attractive to women than lime jello. I didn't name myself Xanderesque Man for no reason.

I'm also arachnophobic. That's more of a Willow trait than a Xander one. No, seriously. What do they need all those legs for anyway? 😉

Also fear of heights

I also also have a fear of heights. I'm pretty sure it was caused by an accident that happened when I was two.

See, I'm not asking for your skeletons.

Good thing. I need my skeletons. What with Halloween coming up and all.

How ambi-virtuous. See what I did there? 'Cause ... you know.. the "vert" in ambivert ... sounds like... Okay, so it was a bad joke. I'll let myself out. 😛

What ambivert means and ambidextrous?

Ambidexterous means having the ability to use both hands equally well for various tasks (for instance, most of us can only write well with our right hand, some of us with our left only, but an ambivert can do it equally well with both.)

Ambivert means being neither introvert or extrovert exclusively, but rather having a balance of traits from each, being more one or the other depending on circumstances. Kind of the personality version of being a switch. 😉

Thank you in the best way. I needed to smile :)
I honestly don't know if it's a flaw or a trait, but I am wary of experts. It comes to mind as I've had two incidents this very week that goes into it.

One, a heater began squeaking. My partner put in a call (a long wait) but I was sure a repairman would try to scam us for parts he'd insist were necessary but just free money into his own pocket, possibly even willing to sabotage our other heaters to make it happen (I have known a repairman to sabotage a fridge to try to sell us a new one, but I busted him and got rid of him). Basically, it would end up being hundreds of dollars that we can't afford.

So just a couple of days ago I dismantled the squeaking heater, took out the motor and scrubbed it down with 3 in 1 oil. And, so far, it has worked beautifully. While I was at it I took part other heaters to clean them out. And I feel very relieved, feeling I averted our being harmed by a professional, and glad when she called to cancel the appointment with the repairman.

Also this week I saw a doctor who did not inspire confidence. It was for two things, chronic insomnia that is getting worse (and I believe is genetic, inherited from both sides of the family, and not much to be done about it) and a couple of hours or so when I started shaking severely, too much to function (the last straw against my seeing a doctor), though it has only happened once.

My partner insisted and arranged for me to see a doctor, but I saw the doctor as trying to get me on meds and into normal doctor appointments (and what happened only strengthened that sentiment, I was not impressed with her). After all, I'm sure she has college loans to pay off in addition to whatever pressure the clinic itself puts on her to make for repeat business. The only good thing was the blood tests, which everything turned out fine (I was able to call in a couple of days later to get results).

The above two examples are very recent, this week, so it's in mind. It is rooted in anxiety, even if I have actual experience to justify it. My distrust is not irrational, but it may be more extreme than it should be.

I see people are listing fears. I have a surprising fear of drowning. It sounds horrible. This has not actually prevented me from water fun and sports, at least when I was younger and less averse to risk. I dream of earthquakes and tsumanis with distressing regularity (though not recently).

First, you are not flawed. You're awesome. Second, Congrats on making the repair yourself. Turns out you were the best one for the job. And I hope you're able to get a good night's sleep soon.
I used to be a chronic oversharer, but after the last couple of years, I don't like to let anyone too close. I don't know that I'll ever be able to let anyone in again.

I feel you on that one. Good Lord, have I overshared lol. Yeah, I have a hard time letting people in, too. Also, sending hugs!

I don't know what happened, Britt, so I'm not here to question your response to it (what would I know?), but it does make me sad. Even from what little interaction I've had with you, I can tell what a sweetheart you are. I hope you can properly resolve whatever happened and that you're happy, whatever shape that might take, allowing people in or not.

And since this is getting a little heavier, allow me to change the topic by disclosing something more about myself. I can't leave the house without my Batman ballcap. It's eighteen years old and has seen better days, but I don't feel like I'm ready to go out unless I have it. What can I say? I love that hat.

I honestly don't know if it's a flaw or a trait, but I am wary of experts.

I would say it's only a flaw if it's unreasonable, if it creates problems where they wouldn't otherwise exist.

Who needs a handyman when you've got a Handy-Pix? 😉

I don't have an active fear of drowning, but I can certainly understand it. I think I might develop one if I was in a submarine or submersible, trapped under the surface at depths that prevent me from just swimming back to the surface without the vehicle if necessary.
