As for Joss Whedon, him cheating does not undermine his character.

That's definitely up for debate. I personally do not have respect for people who cheat. It shows they're weak, selfish, and disrespectful. That is not the way people of good character act. I think many would agree.

We may have a Joss fan boy in the house. He can do no wrong right? Perhaps you are a cheater yourself, and that's why you're defending him. If so, that's gross bro.

David Boreanez repeatedly cheated on his wife and do you think Buffy fans honestly care?

This looks way better than my first attempt. 🤘

P.S. in re: Cordelia; I really don't blame Joss for growing irate with Charisma. IIRC, She was the worst actress on the series, she needed an acting coach and cue cards. She got a tattoo, a tattoo that time and money would have to be spent covering up. She got pregnant, an act that would derail half a year's worth of storylines, affect the production schedule and likely cost millions. Heck, he may have wanted to hire Bianca Lawson. Joss is no saint, but it does sound like he was dealing with Meghan Fox c. 2010.

Re: Ray Fisher; Okay, here's my theory. Ray Fisher got the Black Adam Speech, about how Cyborg is going to be this tragic and important figure, and as Black Iron Man, he's going to be this generational icon who will go on to star in this long series of spin off films, whereas Joss got the speech "OMG, why is 33% of this four hour film about Donald Faison as Inspector Gadget guy? Why are we making three films about a guy named Cyborg?" So, Joss treated him like the guy who played Hawkeye, as opposed to the The Rock, who probably got the same speech about Black Adam at some point.

Re: Joss's Crimes: I don't think his crimes are the issue, I think that his general attitude doesn't make him a lot of friends, he doesn't have his personality cult and I think he may have rubbed a lot of people the wrong way with taking over Justice League. Like, Zack Snyder loyalists or Disney/ Marvel people.

The pregnancy... well, Charisma is neither the first nor the last person to become pregnant during a show, especially when they've played the same role for several years, necessitating a change in direction. You deal with it. It is also not helped by the impression given by society that whatever a woman chooses herself to do with her own body when it comes to children is the wrong decision.

If she's an anxious person, I can understand. She needed some guidance.

She got a tattoo, a tattoo that time and money would have to be spent covering up.

On this, I'll agree. SMG requested/notified the higher ups she wanted to cut her hair in s6. CC turning up with changes to her appearance and not notifying anyone wasn't the best.

She got pregnant, an act that would derail half a year's worth of storylines, affect the production schedule and likely cost millions. Heck, he may have wanted to hire Bianca Lawson. Joss is no saint, but it does sound like he was dealing with Meghan Fox c. 2010.

I am of the firm belief they could use a body double for long shots/fight scenes if that was what was required, but keep the arc that was planned. It wasn't the first time they had to pivot (Maggie Walsh, Oz leaving in BTVS s4. Yes, not the 'main cast' but still important to their stories). Pregnancies have been worked around in many television shows.

I don't believe her pregnancy was planned, so it's not like she did it on purpose to screw them over.

About CC pregnancy:

Kelly Manners (on set producer):

What’s interesting is that in season four Charisma was going to become the evil character. Joss had broken the story arc, but about a month before we started, Charisma walked in and goes, “Oh, by the way, I’m pregnant”. Joss almost tripped over. That’s how Gina Torres came to be on the show as Jasmine. That threw a big wrench into Joss’s plans, I thought he was going to cry, because it had to change his whole vision for that season. I know Joss loved having Gina; I think she brought quite a bit to the show. Like I said, she was a life vest because Joss’s vision got ****ed up. I think in a way she saved that season.

David Fury (S4 co showrunner):

Charisma felt that everyone got angry at her over her pregnancy, and she’s not wrong. I’m not going to say that I had a particular problem with her pregnancy, but the thing with Charisma is she led her life as she wanted to without considering ramifications on her role on the shows. For instance, she wound up getting a bunch of tattoos and one of them was a cross that was on her wrist. And I’m going, “You got a tattoo of a cross on your wrist when you’re on a vampire show, and crosses have an effect on them? We have to hide that now”. It’s little things like that. These seem like little things. By all means she has the right to have a child, and I have no idea what the circumstances, but it wasn’t timed well. It wasn’t timed to help us with production and allow us to write around it.

Amy has diplomatic immunity from ageing.

Most of the Buffy cast age gracefully, maybe Joss told her the secret

Joss just seems bad with women in general, did you ever see that article that states he wasn't allowed to be alone with Michelle? I never read it but its giving weirdo...

That's a pretty good example of Mandela effect because there is no article about it (except the ones making stuff about the story). It was a Instagram story MT wrote. There was no single back up from anyone. The only time some media wrote about this was during Vulture article days. An anonymous source explained they had a verbal fight (it seems Season 7) and they just told him better not do it in private cause apparently she left the office in tears.

Thats it.

The Hollywood Reporter made that article, though him and Michelle still have a strained relationship. She came out on Insta and many of the cast have said stuff about Joss's behavior bts.

There is no cause to make aspersions on another member’s character in this way and it will not be tolerated. There is no reason for this.

Okay. I apologize.
This is typical Hollywood where infidelity isn't exactly a bad thing but commonplace. Just look at Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant survived many infidelities..
It's also because Joss is a man, a highly successful white man.

As for Joss Whedon, him cheating does not undermine his character.
It undermines his character regarding relationships. He can still be a good friend it's just questionable. I don't know the guy, so it's really just speculation.

@SavvyZ 'and many of the cast have said stuff about Joss's behavior bts.'

Again, Mandela effect. It was CC letter in which, to be fair, she said something about a fat joke, also a religion joke and the super weird 1AM call (I'm tryin to imagine Joss calling Kelly Manners, on set chief, to call the schedule person (production assistant probably), to call CC to work at 1AM just to hurt her... All in a year and a show he never ran, and just when he had 3 shows and had like zero business at Angel outside writers room and final pass on scripts and final say on main things... Weird, but... ). It was also MT comment. That's the 'many' of the cast. Two.

SMG just wanted no to be connected to his name. Benson just talked about a toxic enviroment (without any name) that started at the top. Bergstrom explained one incident but she wasn't from the cast.

Mandela effect made many fans think that really many from the cast said things (I even read fans thinking there was a sexual accusation somewhere, even a trial!). In the process they forget the years between 2002 and 2020 in which way more than the 2 that said something worked again and again for him in shows they already saw like Dollhouse, Cabin in the Woods, Much Ado (there was +10 Buffy/Angel/Firefly cast & crew at Joss home October 2011 shooting the film), Dr Horrible, Avengers or Shield pilot.

The most incredible thing about Mandela effect is the fact that, because those fans never really read those things, they talk about actors saying things about bts stuff but never exactly what kind, any quote or any precise thing (like MT, for instance... Or, outside Buffy/Angel, Gal Gadot: the only, only, only who said something very precise).

What happened here is, sometimes, a Black Mirror script material!

No doubt it was a toxic set, everyone has said the show went on for 18 hours of production, with shooting ending on Saturday morning in some cases. A cast of several dozen twenty year olds shot in a night club also had discipline issues. This is why you don't make 23 episode long seasons anymore. Television production has a lot of human wreckage. If you look at Joss's record on, let's say, Firefly, which had a real budget, real actors, sufficient production staff and time to film this, nobody has a bad word to say about Joss. The real villain is the WB's production schedule.

Yeah, Michelle's an idiot. Look, she was very sick for the last few years of her life, and I don't wish to speak ill of the dead, but it eventually came out that Joss yelled at her, and hard for something. But, you would be excused for thinking he tried to rape her, because the way that she, or her people, more likely, revealed her story in an extremely sensationalistic way.

Gal Gadot isn't a good actress, and Justice League reshoots were supposed to be brutal. He probably did lose his temper with her. However, that doesn't get you blacklisted.

Re: Cordelia: I think the interview excerpts covered it, There's context involved. I mean, Charisma's son is far more important than some TV show she did thirty years ago, but it's pretty annoying for the people running that TV show.

Again, Joss burned his bridges with Disney, I suspect Warner blames him for the failure of Justice League, Batgirl and the Nevers. 20th Century Fox is gone. Zack Snyder's partisans hate him, and his own stans have abandoned him. If he's working uncredited or under a pseudonym, well, I'm not going to know that, but I suspect that part of the reason that WB hates him, is because they paid him quite a bit. So, no, I do not believe his crimes would merit an exile of this length, but I don't believe that anyone really wants to work with him, either.

There is a saying that nothing succeeds like success, and Joss hasn't really had any successes in a long time. Execs care about success, and money, and if Joss isn't brining in the money, he won't be getting the work. There is a long history of overlooking anything but not being successful.

Just fyi, an 18 hour production day is not that unusual. There are rules, which Joss would have had to follow, about giving the cast & crew a break after so many hours with a second meal provided. And the actors would have gotten at least a 12 hour turnaround before they had to come back to set. (The rest of the crew would have different hours based on position.) So it’s not like they finish at 1am then have to come back at 6am. I’m not discounting the things the actors have said, obviously things happened that shouldn’t have, but sometimes actors complain about things that really aren’t as big a deal as they make them seem.

As a former stage manager, I agree this is true!

Joss Whedon last successful project was Agents Of Shield so I don't where you're getting. In fact both Avengers Infinity War and Endgame could also be counted another successful thing for him given the fact he was very involved with those as script consultant.

You hate Joss Whedon all you but that doesn't take away from his impact in Hollywood.

I swear people would go any length to discredit the man and for what reason I don't know.

I don't know what Joss Whedon race or gender has to with him as person. It not like he has never tried to empower those who were never in his position.

None of the actors complained about their working hours because they knew exactly what they signed up for. Take this from someone who actually worked on a production set.

Justice League was never a Joss Whedon project other than the fact he was just asked by them to complete scheduled reshoots and deliver a cut that was under 2 hours.

At the end of the day outcome would've been the same regardless of who had done it.
