Meal Planning #3

Well my microwave stopped working so leftovers are trickier until I can get it fixed or a replacement.

Still doing to freezer meals, took out some soup for tonight and lunch tomorrow. There's more soup in there than I thought!

This week, I'm planning on eating oatmeal with cinnamon, peanut butter and bananas and for breakfast, and for dinners, vegetable and tofu curry with rice, and potato soup. Cheap, filling and nutritious!

I accidently put my tuna patties back in the fridge rather than the freezer, so I have been eating them for every meal since.

I made this yesterday, and it tuned out really good! It made at least six servings, and would freeze and reheat well. I added an egg on top too.

Grew up eating this.

Cheap and keeps you full if you eat with rice.

Trust me lentils and pickled veggies are perf

I want to pickle my own veggies!
SO I'm batch cooking spaghetti bolognaise tonight and it got me thinking.... I know, doesn't happen often!

Do you batch cook and if so what do you cook?
How many meals do you get from it?
What's your set up?

I'm cooking a spag and I can get 4/5 meals out of 500g of mince beef... Also I freeze whats not eaten and use it another day.
I also do stews in batch cook mode. However, I need to expand my menu lol.

I never made good brownies, not much of a baker. only time it comes out right is using a mix. there's one called "no pudge" and you use yogurt haha. should try it again.

Meals this upcoming week will be whatever I can get from the free food pantry, because I am broke.

Tonight, I'm having seasoned rice and soup from my pantry, and since it's my day off and since I worked damn hard this week, I treated myself to some whiskey and beer to enjoy too! Along with some rewatching of Angel.

I'm exhausted and today is definitely my day of rest.

There are a few things I batch cook, and the bolognaise part of spaghetti is one of them. And that's partly because I hate mince so to make it I cut up beef into small pieces, Which is really, really time consuming, so I make four at once. Four is usually a batch cook/preparation number and that can fill up a freezer surprisingly quickly, even when batch one is eaten after prep. I need to start batch cooking again; I plan to do some fajitas again as one kit results in eight fajitas which makes eight light meals.

Yay, fellow mince hater!
My freezer is looking excellent right now. Did few bulk cooks over the last few weeks so I have spag bog, tuna and veggie bake, quiche, bran brownies, honey mustard chicken, and tomorrow I will cook satay turkey with egg noodles so that can go in there too. I have a few things to choose from which will hopefully make life a bit easier over spring when I have so much else to do with the garden.

Batch cooking day tomorrow, I've cooked the chicken ready, for curry and chicken and mushroom pasta bake. Probably won't use all the mushrooms so might also do a kind of sausage and mushroom cassoulet depending on what's in the cupboard.

It sounds all yummy to me
I need to get back into meal planning properly, I spent way too much on food lately, so excusing the takeaway last night, I'm cutting back on food.

Aiming to get it back under £120 a month for me and the cat.
Well £120 didn't happen, but I now won't need to buy dried cat food or toilet paper for the rest of the year. I should only need to spend another £10 or so this month on fresh stuff.
