Plot armour is not necessarily bad - we do get attached to characters - but plot armour that involves people getting away with truly ridiculous antics, as Spike did, really harms a story.

I guess you can divide plot armour into two categories: minor and major.
It's littered throughout the series, as it is for other shows.

You know, someone conveniently showing up at the right moment, or having the right item needed. Then the major plot armour, like Buffy not killing Angel in S2. Or Spike.

I think my favorite is where a helpless Willow is about to become kibble, but werewolf takes off, no reason. Took me awhile to head canon that one (from Jasmine, beyond mortal genius, stopping it for her own reasons to the hunter using magic smell)
