Had this question in my head after reading a few fanfics and Comics recently.... So many great characters or at least great character ideas never got a chance to shine because of untimely deaths, or writing decisions to simply send them to the cornfield. So, who in your opinion is a great character that never got their due, who could have made a much bigger impact if they were allowed to stick around, and why? This could include both villains and civilians that got 'got'.

And, if you could keep them on the show(s), what would you have done with them?

Example: Sorority Vamp Sunday from Season 4 of Buffy. Or Evil Watcher Gwendolyn Post From Season 3....

So... who ya got?

Gwendolyn Post is the one for me; a dryly evil British Watcher who monologues about throwing lightning bolts; that's pretty awesome.

The shark guy from 'Tabula Rasa'; just so we could get a 'wtf' that guy existed. We gotta have backstory!

I'd agree with Sunday & Marcie. I'd add Mr Trick. I think that Vamp Willow would've made an outstanding big bad especially if paired with Spike. They could've been somewhat contentious partners in crime.

Yess Vamp Willow should've escaped and come back later on.

She could look at real Willow and be like "wow... You're kinda gay."
Mr. Trick should have stayed longer for sure! Cassie would have been great too if she had stayed longer or better been introduced sooner and have her die as she did. maybe become a real Dawn friend to have an impact.

I think Gwen on ATS was great too and I think she has more in the comics on on tv I wish she had been a regular in S5.

Huge missed opportunity this.... especially considering the interactions in season 4 between willow and spike, this would have been amazing.

Thanks. Had an idea for a different season 6 with those 2 as the big bads never gotten round to actually writing it...

I need motivation
Amy Madison is my biggest.
Followed by Kendra.
I'm still intrigued by the idea of Vamp Willow not getting sent back to her reality, escaping to come back later on at some point. I'd almost rather have Dark Willow vs. Vamp Willow at the end of Season 6 instead of Dark Willow vs. Amy which I would've loved to see.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Mr. Trick yet! A technologically savvy vampire who sees a bigger picture than the "old school" vampires.

Doc (the one played by Joel Gray, not Spike as the doctor in "As You Were"). He was the one who was to sacrifice Dawn to Glory.

Janice, Dawn's friend from "All the Way". They could have been buddies in the new school.

That's because they did... see post #7 and post #8
Gwendolyn Post is the one for me

Me too! I like reimagining mid-Season 3 with Gwendolyn Post in a full arc. It would have been great if she came in as Faith's real Watcher. She could be as utilitarian as Wesley but 100% efficient instead of bumbling. She would win Faith over and start her on a strict training and slaying program. Giles and Buffy would start to feel overshadowed as Mrs. Post and Faith racked up excellent demon-killing results. Then, Buffy's Cruciamentum would happen, with Post egging Giles on beforehand, and Giles would get fired. Once Post took over as Watcher for both slayers, Buffy would slowly learn that Post had been sending Faith on more and more questionable missions because of her utilitarian outlook. Eventually Post would be fully corrupted and do something like the glove thing and Buffy would be responsible for her death, turning Faith against her and setting Faith up to ultimately join the Mayor.

Great sub-plot! :)
I think Sunday could've hung around longer. She was originally conceived as a Slaypire (Slayer turned Vampire) so that could've been an interesting storyline for Buffy to have to face.

I feel like that Sunday story was made up by fans, about her having been a slayer originally. Even if she wasn't, she could've/should've been much more.
Pavayne from AtS 5 'Hellbound' was really great and creepy. A worthy foe for ghost-Spike.
And technically we still don't know what happened to him; he was locked up in the W&H vaults and that was that.
